     Yukie Yamamura is a Japanese singer and actress is commonly known by her stage name as Kou Shibasaki.  Her debut single was "Trust My Feelings" but it was her second single, "Tsuki no shizuku" that made her popular.  The single was one of the most successful Japanese songs in 2003.  In 2008, Kou released her greatest hits in two albums, The Single Best and The Back Best.  Both albums ended up in the top 3 and broke the record previous held by Japanese icon, Ayumi Hamasaki.

     Kou Shibasaki's acting career is equally as impressive as her singing career. She has won the Best Supporting Actress award three times along with other awards.  Kou Shibasaki will make her Hollywood debut in the famous Chushingura story sometime in the near future.  It is truly a rare and difficult feat to have accomplished such success as a singer and an actress.
