With little experience as a actress, Stephen Chow gave her the leading female role in the 2007 film called CJ7. After her first major film role, Yuqi's popularity and recognition in the Chinese film industry began to grow. She would then land major roles in Shaolin Girl, All About Women, and Journey to the West.
