Zhang Yuqi began her journey in becoming an actress when she left her hometown at the age of 15 to attend an acting school in Shanghai.  Yuqi caught a break when she was noticed by actor/director Stephen Chow when she did an advertisement for KFC.  With little experience as a actress, Stephen Chow gave her the leading female role in the 2007 film called CJ7. After her first major film role, Yuqi's popularity and recognition in the Chinese film industry began to grow.  She would then land major roles in Shaolin Girl, All About Women, and Journey to the West.

Zhang Yuqi is a talented and beautiful actress who has potential to reach even greater heights.  She was put in the leading role for her first film and did an exceptional job.  Yuqi overcame her inexperience as an actress with her talents.  She is also a model and has appeared on numerous magazine covers.  Yuqi is still a relatively young actress but she is making the best of the opportunities that is being put in front of her.  She will star in new films called Qian Xuesen and White Deer Plain.
