Deepika Has Plans For Ranbir Picture

Deepika Has Plans For Ranbir Photoshoot

Deepika has plans for Ranbir deepika padukone ranbir kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor, hailed as the brightest light in Bollywood, flew in from Bhopal where he was stationed for Prakash Jha’s Rajniti just hours before his birthday.
Asked whether he had special plans for his big day, Ranbir said, “I will be having a quiet dinner with my parents. My sister Riddhima and my brother-in-law Bharat are travelling this year. I’m a shy guy and I normally like having an intimate celebration rather than something ostentatious.”
The actor admits he has a special wish this year, though. His film, Karan Johar’s Wake Up Sid, is due in his birthday week, and Ranbir says, “The best gift I can ask for this year is that everyone goes to see my film.” Smiling he adds, “I don’t know how to hardsell myself or my film but I can surely request people to see it.”
While the actor intends to ring in his birthday with his father Rishi Kapoor and mother Neetu Singh, he also has plans for another little “quiet” bash with girlfriend Deepika Padukone and a couple of dear friends. “I’m not one of those guys for surprise parties,” he says. “I feel awkward. I have no idea what Deepika has planned for me. I haven’t seen her for a few days because I have been in Bhopal and she was in Mumbai. However, I hope it isn’t too big a surprise because even she knows how reserved I am.”
As he signs off, the young actor says, “Of course, I want the usual things like super-success for my film, good luck and happiness. The perfect birthday gift for me each year is the same. I want good health and immense happiness for my parents. Nothing else can make me happier.

Kangana’s Confessions Picture

Kangana’s Confessions

Kanganas confessions 542518070609
Today, Bollywood’s latest glam doll and style diva is a confident lady who handles herself with élan. Dressed in a red mini-dress and black peep-toe heels, Kangna gave Hyderabad a taste of her outspoken nature and charisma.
Her first Telugu film with Prabhas is complete and geared up for release later next month. Though not familiar with the language, the actor is quite happy with the end result. “I had to work extra hard for my Telugu film, and I’m happy with the way it’s turned out,” says Kangna. For someone known for giving powerhouse performances consistently, language did not prove to be a barrier. “Whenever I was given the script, it was translated to me in either Hindi or English. This helped me understand the lines and get the emotions right,” says the actor.
What comes as a surprise is that Kangna chose to do a Telugu film at a time when her kitty is filled with interesting Hindi projects, like Kites. “Well, I believe in multi-tasking. Moreover I don’t have to bother about my dates as my manager is there do take care of that,” she says. So what exactly made her accept this offer? “I’ve known Puri (Jagannath) for a long time. He offered me Pokiri earlier, but I couldn’t do the film as I was busy with Gangster. He later approached me with this script. I liked it and managed to find time, so here I am, acting opposite Prabhas,” avers Kangna.
So is she trying to widen her appeal in areas that are known to idolise their regional cinema idols? “Look, I’m not that intelligent. I don’t understand ‘numbers’ and ‘markets’ and stuff like that. I only understand cinema and me doing any film – be it regional or Hindi – solely depends on the script.”
With the Filmfare award for best supporting actor (female), for Fashion safely tucked under her belt, Kangna is indeed one of the most sought after leading ladies in Bollywood. Her fresh-faced appeal and no-holds barred acting has won over many a hardened critic. But the lady chooses not to pays heed to the film ‘pundits’. “Given an option, I would choose a blockbuster over critical acclaim. Critics are just a handful of people who look too deep into the nitty-gritties of cinema. They forget to enjoy the fun aspect of the film. The audience watches films to be entertained. They don’t sit in theatres to scrutinise the technical aspects that go into filmmaking. So, I would rather make films to please those million instead of making movies for a bunch of people,” confesses the actor.
For someone from a non-filmi background, Kangna is slowly getting a stronger foothold in an industry that is unforgiving towards slips. “Everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes your film works and at times it doesn’t. But what’s important is that your efforts are honest,” she says.
Though just a few years old in the industry, the actor has already stared dreaming of directing a film someday. “I’m quite familiar with the process of filmmaking. I will surely direct a movie someday. But right now, I have no such defined career-path.” Her cinematic dreams not withstanding, Kangna does not shy away from mentioning her humble beginnings. “I’m a simple girl from a small town like Manali. I was plucked from anonymity and stardom happened. I try to make movies that appeal to people like my brother and his friends who only care about entertainment and nothing more. But most importantly, I don’t forget my roots. It helps me stay grounded.

Colour me red: Akshay Akshay Kumar 300
As all the characters have distinctive personalities and are different from each other, they are all associated with a particular colour, which underlines their characteristics. Right from outfit designs to the moulding of characters, all the male lead actors of the film can be seen displaying predominant traits throughout the film.
Like, Akshay Kumar is seen sporting a fiery red and related shades that bring out the menacing, dangerous qualities of the character he plays. Sanjay Dutt, on the other hand, is seen in casuals for major parts of the films, playing a calm, composed character, hence wearing tones of blue. Zayed Khan plays a young, carefree guy, which is portrayed by the yellow and bright colours that he wears. Now, that’s a colourful concept.

Salmans sweet: Bebo mainaurkhanna
That Salman Khan is all about “Being Human” is known But here is proof that the dildar Pathan is more than generous as well. And the recipient of his generosity was the beautiful Kareena Kapoor, Salman’s co-star in Main Aur Mrs. Khanna.
In Melbourne on the shoot, the two stars who are friends would always be laughing, cracking jokes and having fun. And when pack-up was announced, Kareena would often go shopping. Once, Salman accompanied her to carry the bags! At one particular store, Bebo went on a shopping spree, picking up things for friends, family and herself.
When she went to settle the bill, she was zapped to be told her that it was already paid. Seeing Salman grinning from ear-to-ear, Kareena realised who her benefactor was. Of the things that Salman apparently ‘gifted’ her was a limited edition bag worth Rs 2. 5 lakh! She uses the bag in the film too. When asked about the incident, Kareena replied, “Salman’s generosity cannot be matched. It was a very sweet gesture on his part. He is a wonderful person at heart.

Aamir And SRK May Finally Do A Film Together Picture

Aamir And SRK May Finally Do A Film Together

Aamir and SRK may finally do a film together srkaamir149 full
“Slumdog Millionaire” director Danny Boyle has already signed Aamir Khan for his upcoming film “Bombay Velvet” and now he is in process of roping in Shah Rukh Khan too.
If the British filmmaker manages to do this, the two superstars will feature together in a movie for the first time. The film will be directed by Anurag Kashyap and presented by Danny Boyle.
Like “Slumdog Millionaire”, this film too will be about real-life incidents in the city of Mumbai. The movie will be in three parts. While a new actor will be playing the second part, Aamir has been signed to play the lead in the third part.
For the first part, Danny is in discussion with Shah Rukh and if sources are to be believed, this time, SRK is not keen on losing out on such a plum project. Shah Rukh was offered the role that was finally done by Anil Kapoor in “Slumdog Millionaire”, but SRK had refused for some reason.

Priyanka Harman Still In Love Picture

Priyanka Harman Still In Love

Priyanka, Harman still in love? 20look1
Though the couple — who is all set to be seen together again in What’s Your Raashee? — has always maintained silence about their now ex-love affair, the two still have a soft spot for each other, or their gifts at least.
Almost a year back, when the duo was asked about the most romantic thing someone’s done for them or the most romantic thing they’ve done for someone at separate interviews, the two had co-incidentally mentioned the same gift, but without mentioning the names of the person involved. For the Bollywood hottie, the best gift she ever recieved was a CD of her fave 12 tracks — one for each month — with a couplet/poem recorded before every song. Incidentally, the best gift Harman had ever given his special someone was also the same. And it didn’t take long for anyone to figure out who the special ones in their lives were.
Well, a year later, when the two have reportedly already moved on, but were asked the same question, surprisingly enough, unknown to each other, the two replied the same answer this time around too. Seems like this private former couple may have tried to keep their love life under wraps, but their affection for each other is more than obvious even today. And reports of the sizzling chemistry the two share in their forthcoming film is no secret either. Wonder if their ‘special connection’ is too special to ever be broken!

Salman, Sridevis shameless promotion! thumb1
years away from arclights after her marriage and children, came specially to promote her husband’s film Wanted.
Sridevi made the exception for 10 Ka Dum only because she has worked with him in the past and just couldn’t say no to him. They are joined by the film’s actress Ayesha Takia and Prabhudeva (who makes his debut as director in Wanted). For Sridevi, who looked as ravishing as ever it seemed like a family outing with daughters Jahnavi and Khushi also with them.
While Salman and Sridevi regaled the audience with some lighter moments from their last movie together, there were more celebrity guests in the audience. Salman’s buddies music directors Sajid and Wajid were in the audience too. The music directors rocked the show with their brand of singing and music with special sound effects! A delighted Salman Khan quipped: “Now we can all shamelessly promote our film Wanted!”

Aamir Snubs SRK Again Picture

Aamir Snubs SRK Again

Idiot Aamir snubs SRK again aamir khan

People thought that the war between the two superstars, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, was over after they came together on a common platform for the multiplex issue.
But it’s never as simple as that. On Sunday night, Aamir Khan made another dig at Shah Rukh when he returned to Mumbai after vacationing in France.
An eye witness present at the international airport says, “When Aamir walked in late on Sunday night, he was approached for an interview by a TV reporter. Since Aamir had returned from France, the reporter wanted to know whether, he too, like SRK, was stopped at international airports and interrogated for being a Khan. That’s when Aamir retorted that such checks are a routine matter. He also added tongue-in-cheek that, ‘No one checks me as I am an idiot’, obviously referring to his forthcoming film, 3 Idiots. Then he went on to add that SRK had a problem as he is very intelligent. Aamir’s obvious reference means that the fuss created by SRK about being stopped at the airports was a mere publicity stunt. Now it remains to be seen when SRK will respond.”
This war of words has been raging for long between the two stars, with Shah Rukh and Aamir regularly taking potshots at each other. However, when the film industry got together for the multiplex issue, the two Khans forgetting their differences, came together on the same platform to express their solidarity. But now, again, Aamir’s dig at SRK has set tongues wagging in the film industry about the so-called bonhomie between the two superstars.
Incidentally, Salman Khan had also made similar comments about SRK on the same issue by saying that everyone has to go through these routine security checks at international airports, so what’s the big deal?

I Look Younger Than Shahid Rani Picture

I Look Younger Than Shahid

rani
You sure kept the audience waiting for long…
Well, it hasn’t been long. Soon after my last film, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, I got busy with Dil Bole Hadippa. Since I was playing a cricketer, I had to train in the game for six months before
shooting. In fact, Dil Bole… was ready by March, but the multiplex strike posed a hurdle. In a way, I see it as a boon as the film is now set for release on Mahalaya, an auspicious day. I hope and pray that it brings luck. So, you see, I’ve been working all through. I seriously need a break now.
And how essential is it for you, as an actor, to break the stereotype and spring back in a new avatar?
As an actor, it’s very important to reinvent myself. This time around, the script had all the scope. It’s probably the first time that a heroine will be playing a cricketer. And definitely, this is the first time that I play a Sardar boy. I didn’t want people to say that she essayed the role of a cricketer just for the heck of it. Hence, I toned my body to look like a cricketer. By the end of it all, my body had toned so beautifully that it was suggested I flaunt my body in the music video.
How difficult was attaining this toned look?
I was into yoga and weight training. I zipped my mouth. It’s been long since I have gorged on machher jhol and rosogolla. Frankly, I wanted to look the part and get my cricket right. Earlier, I wasn’t too much into the game. But thanks to Dil Bole…, I’ve started enjoying the game much more and stopped annoying my dad with the silly cricketing questions that I used to ask.
Any cricketing favourites?
Sachin Tendulkar is my all-time favourite.
Apart from the new look in this film, your supposed bikini act is also generating a lot of buzz…
Sorry to disappoint you but I’ve not sported a bikini in this film. Instead I’ve worn a salwar with a bikini top.
Rani has always been termed sweet, bubbly, chirpy, warm but seldom have you been called sizzling or hot. Will Dil Bole…change all of that?
If people start finding me hot, it will be for the better. And certainly, I take it as a compliment.
Bollywood seems to have got over older heroines being paired opposite young heroes…
Shahid and me are probably the same age. It’s just that he started late and I entered the industry at 17. But let me tell you that I look younger than him (laughs).
Now that Bipasha has stepped into Tollywood, when do we get to see you in a Bengali venture?
I want to do something worth my while. Are the directors listening?

Ash Is Grace Under Pressure Picture

Ash Is Grace Under Pressure

Ash is grace under pressure AishwaryaRai Barson 4964876
Dignity under pressure is a tall order. Lata Mangeshkar, Rekha and Aishwarya are portraits of composure during the most trying of times. They’ve all had their share of discomforting moments. Never have they recoiled, retaliated and caved in.
And yes, their heads haven’t spun around with the giddy aphrodisiac of success. For some strange reason female celebrities are more prone to an absurd upsurge of self-worth than men. I call it the Friday-before-and-after effect. For Mallika Sherawat, I was a mentor before the Friday when Murder released. Then the mentor became the tormentor. Where is Mallika by the way? Last I heard she was getting her extremely well-oiled publicity machinery to spread stories about how she was was heading for various posh assignment in the West. I don’t know how many of those Westward-bound projects actually materialised.
Aeons ago Gregory Peck met Suraiya, who was fascinated by Peck because he resembled her crush Dev Anand. Gerard Butler seemed interested in Priyanka Chopra because she resembles his co-star Katherine Heigl. The more things change (from the era of the aura to the aura of the tacky) the more they remain the same.
Could this be just a coincidence? But all the three main Indian films at the Toronto Film Festival this year are predominantly and entirely female-oriented. So many female-oriented films … Actresses are finally breaking the myth that films with women at the helm are out of favour. It takes a Lisa Ray to show the world what woman power really means.
It’s strange. We live in a society which still practices female foeticide. And we still worship Durga and Kali. But in the industry it’s the mothers, who have ruled the roost. From Vyjayanthimala’s grandmom to Hema Malini’s mom, today too, Ayesha Takia and Amrita Rao’s mothers are more visible than their fathers. It may be a man’s world outside, but within the industry it’s a matriarchal cosmos.

While the producers have made loads of arrangements to try and keep the pests away, the occasional mosquito still bays for the unit’s blood. A funny conversation was heard between the sexy Bengali bombshell and one of the production assistants.
Said Bips to the assistant, “Make sure that mosquitoes don’t come anywhere near me. I don’t want to get bitten. I’m mortally scared of getting malaria.”
Apparently, the assistant replied: “Madam, don’t worry… first of all I have made sure that mosquitoes don’t come near you. And, God forbid, even one or two come they will not bite you.” Bips apparently rolled with laughter when she heard this. She has heard of men talking to their pets. But she has never heard of a man talking to pests (mosquitoes in this case.)

Raveena Me Mayawati? Picture

Raveena Me Mayawati?

Raveena: Me, Mayawati? raveena tandon
Between shifting house and travelling to Kolkata and Jaipur to judge a reality dance show, Raveena Tandon’s one busy woman.
When BT called her, she was shopping for her new pad in Bandra. She’s also been shopping for challenging roles of late. Going by her line-up of films, her married-and-mother-of-two status has done nothing to dampen film-makers’ interest in her. After a four-year gap, Raveena will return in 2010 with three films.
One of them, Gulab Gang, reportedly has her play UP chief minister Mayawati. But Raveena says, “It’s based on a true story about an all-women gang in UP. But I don’t play Mayawati. It’s about a politician in UP. That way, there are so many politicians from UP.” She’ll be sharing screen space with Tabu and Shahana Goswami in the film.
She also has a guest appearance in Milind Ukey’s Aditya Met Avantika, in which she’ll be cast with Amrita Singh. “I’m doing that for a friend and can’t talk about it,” she says.
But the film that she’s currently concentrating on is Revathy Varmha’s Aap Ke Liye Hum, in which she plays a lawyer. The story is based on the life of its director, who adopted her mother, Sophia, through a court of law. “It’s a story about how three women come together and get involved in each other’s lives owing to circumstances. The lawyer creates history by fighting the case and letting Ayesha Takia Azmi, who plays an orphan, adopt Jaya Bachchan as her mother.”
She’s faced the camera after four years for the film. Did she develop cold feet? “My heart sank when Revathy gave me a five-page-long dialogue on my first day of shoot. But when I finished giving the shot, everyone in the unit clapped. I looked up and thanked god. So, this was where I was meant to be,” states Ravs.
While work’s keeping her busy, she’s ensuring her kids don’t feel left out. “I’m trying to strike a balance between my career and home. I often ask myself if I haven’t accepted more work than I can handle. My kids are still young. My daughter is four while my son is two. I like to be with them 24/7,” she shares.

Bipasha Says She Isnt Doing Billy Zane

Bipasha says she isnt doing Billy Zane bipasha
And that too, when she wasn’t in the loop about having to address the press during her visit to the city to promote Dance Premier League. But a few minutes into the
conversation and she is happy talking about her movies and her priorities both in professional and personal world.
Are you doing Chimera, the Hollywood film with Billy Zane?
No, I am not doing the Billy Zane movie. I’ll not discuss anything about why I took this decision since doing that would mean giving more media attention to this issue.
But you are doing Mani Ratnam’s Raavan where you play Abhishek’s wife…
Yes, I’m doing Raavan. But I haven’t begun shooting as yet and hence, can’t disclose anything further. All I can say is that I’ve enjoyed his films and will shoot it after my schedule for Priyadarshan’s movie.
Priyadarshan and Mani Ratnam are among the very few directors in India who have got both critical and commercial acclaim. How do you think they manage to strike this balance?
That’s what I appreciate about them. I am waiting to watch Kanjeevaram. It’s far more difficult for me to do an unreal film and entertain people. Beedi jalaile was tough for me. Neither am I a great dancer nor have I ever been exposed to the rural world of entertainment that was where my character in Omkara belonged. And yet, I had to put up a convincing act. Actors have to be responsible in getting the audience since so much of money is at stake. But things are different for serious cinema. There is freedom to work. Priyadarshan agreed with me when I shared this view. He said it’s tougher to cater to other’s fantasy. Kanjeevaram, in contrast, gave him the freedom to be himself.
Many acclaimed directors believe that they can even make a tree act and the credit for an actor’s good performance rests on the director’s vision and how he moulds the actor to suit the role to perfection…
A good director will never hire a tree because he knows that the right casting is very important for a film. But yes, on a certain level, every actor is a puppet in a director’s hand. If a director has clarity, I can do everything.
How much of what you’ve done in Shob Charitro Kalponik is because of Rituparno Ghosh’s vision?
I trust his vision to cast me in a role that’s not what I’m associated with in films. Carrying myself in cotton saris, having a distinctive body language and expressing an emotion of falling in love with one’s husband after his death — these are things that I haven’t experienced ever. Everything went off so effortlessly. I have got congratulatory calls from uncles who have seen me during my childhood. The only hitch is my dubbed voice. That’s where I feel the film doesn’t have the whole of me. I want to dub for the National Award print.
But won’t that also mean having to get a separate Censor certificate for your dubbed version? Is it possible to get two Censor certificates for the same film?
I am not aware of the details involving double film certification. But when I discussed this issue, I was told it wouldn’t be a problem.
Your SCK co-star, Prosenjit, has been consciously reinventing himself in his recent films (read SAC and Houseful). Do you think he should also be doing Bollywood films?
It’s great that he is reinventing himself. It’s hard to get such roles and films in Mumbai. If there was any need for him to move, he would have done it earlier. Now, it might be a little late to venture out. Besides, he is a superstar here and has earned so much of love and respect with his body of work.
SCK, Pankh, Lamhaa — all three films of yours have you in serious roles. How do you say no to scripts that will now tend to cash in on your serious avatar?
I do three films a year, but I hear all the scripts. I okay a script impulsively. Some might think that I’m arrogant since I say no immediately if I don’t want to do a film, but I believe in not wasting time to say that I’ll not do a film. Myopia exists in the industry and once they see an actor excelling in a particular role, similar roles are offered. Tabu is such a fabulous actor and a very nice human being. I just loved her performance in films like The Namesake and Maqbool. Despite her talent, she isn’t doing that many films now. It’s important for me to strike a balance and be versatile. I’ve realized that women themselves don’t want to watch women-oriented films. I love a SCK and a Lamhaa as much as I love doing All the Best.
Do you personally like watching comedies?
John and I love watching comedies. My favourite is Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron. Hera Pheri was a cult film. A light film like No Entry is the most watched film on television. All The Best is a situational comedy. With our hectic lifestyle, it’s important for us to just distress and laugh. All The Best is just that kind of a movie.
