Model turned actress Shilpa Shetty, born to model parents Surendra Shetty and Sunanda Shetty, made her acting debut with the film 'Gaata Rahe Mera Dil'. But the film got stalled and the tall lass from Tamil Nadu was offered a role in 'Baazigar' (1993). Though most of her films were flops, Shilpa achieved a hot spot in Bollywood with the song 'Churake Dil Mera' in 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' (1994). Shilpa has worked in a couple of films in Telugu, Kannada and Tamil. The sizzling starlet, mesmerized the audience with her devastating, unconventional looks, flexible dancing and stunning figure. Her performance in Revathy's 'Phir Milenge' (2004) was every much appreciated and she received Giant International Award, Indo-Pak's Young Achiever Award and AAHOA award for the same. She has also received Zee Gold Best Supporting Actress award 1998.

After a failed relationship with Akshay Kumar she was linked to composer Sandeep Chowta by the glossies.
